Consultation and Supervision
Being a therapist is an inherently embodied job.
Although we spend hours absorbing other people’s stories and energy, the body is often left out of the clinical support we seek out or is spoken to as an afterthought. I believe that the support we receive should match the depth of space that we hold for others, which includes attending to the body and learning how to trust the intuition we already carry.
When we carry the stories we absorb alone without creating the space to intentionally share and be witnessed in our experience of carrying them, they can get stuck and make us more likely to doubt ourselves and cloud our therapeutic decision making. This inherently makes it more difficult to show up in the Self-led (open, curious, playful) way that our work demands and that our clients deserve.
At the center of my work with other therapists live body-centered questions and explorations:
When you talk about that client, what happens in your body?
What happens in your body when you’re in the room with them?
What is that sensation asking you to express?
What movement can you offer the part of you that is coming up?
These types of questions are explored experientially, with the goal of tending to and supporting the parts of you that may be making it hard to sit in your Self-led center. As a result, the therapists I work with come to increase their ability to:
Be physically present with clients
Slow down their experience of being with clients
Access creativity in the interventions they choose
Trust their clinical judgement and decision making
Increase the confidence with which they hold therapeutic space
If you too are curious about how increasing your somatic (body centered) awareness might support your therapeutic work, please see my current offerings. I’d love to support you.
Embodied Consultation Group
This is a bi-weekly chance to:
gather with therapist peers
drop the professional mask
be compassionately witnessed in your complex experience of being a therapist
receive support with specific cases
Our time includes space to connect to yourself, time for case consultation and time for somatic practices related to whatever is coming up for the group and/or for clients.
My particular specialities are life transitions, grief, trauma processing and attachment wounds, and I work from a relational lens, integrating IFS with somatic work. I welcome therapists with diverse life experiences, identities, specialities and clinical skills who are open to and curious about increasing their somatic awareness in service of their work.
We meet on Tuesdays from 11-12:15 EST. 4 spots are remaining. Investment is $75/group.
Individual Consultation and Supervision
I offer individual supervision to:
pre-licensed LPC’s (LAPC’s) in Pennsylvania.
registered dance/movement therapists (R-DMT’s) who are seeking board certification.
I offer Consultation to:
Fully licensed therapists throughout the US and world who are wanting to deepen their relationship with their body’s knowing in service of their work.
I specialize in helping therapists deepen their somatic awareness of their therapeutic process, relationship building style and any transference/counter-transference that may be showing up in their sessions.
I understand individual experiences within the context of the cultural and social fabric and systems of power that we exist in. I am honored to hold a brave, liberation oriented space for fellow clinicians to take off the mask and go to the deeper places inside that this work often touches.
Investment is $170/60 minutes and $200/90 minutes. Sliding scale options are available for newer therapists.
If you are interested in either consultation/supervision option, please book a consult call below. This will give us a chance to meet and see we would be a good fit.
