Therapy for Life Transitions

in East Falls, Philly and virtually throughout PA

Here you are, caught in the middle between who you were and who you are becoming, what your life was and what it might become. Your back is aching, your legs are shaky, your mind is racing, and you find yourself up at 3 in the morning asking “where do I go from here?” Or perhaps you feel blank, numb and disconnected from that pulse of aliveness that makes you feel like you.

Changes of identity, life roles and/or physical space have happened before. Maybe you gritted your teeth or buried yourself in distractions to get through the discomfort in the past.

Maybe a storm of changes happened too quickly to process fully at the time, and you’re just now coming up for air.

Maybe you dove into verbal or behavioral based forms of therapy that increased your insight but failed to truly shift how you experience yourself and your relationships.

Either way, the old ghosts are back, and this time you don’t want to be alone with them. This time, maybe for the first time, you don’t want to abandon yourself in the process.

What I need you to know is that the discomfort you’re feeling in your body holds the exact information you need to experience real change.

That armor you feel wrapped around your heart, that twisting in your belly, that clouding of your brain-all these physical experiences are parts of you that are asking to be witnessed, understood and tended to. And, the process of slowing down enough to listen, be with and experience something new is a skill that must be learned in relationship.

That’s where our work together can offer the exact medicine that your system needs.

As we witness and become curious about how your feelings and experiences communicate with your body, I will:

  • invite you to pay attention to the sensations, images and verbal feedback that reveals itself

  • guide you to become curious about what your parts are needing to say and ask of you

  • reflect what I hear and see both directly and gently

  • guide you through movement-based and creative practices to help both express those parts and give them the chance to experience something new.

The pace of your healing unfolds at the exact pace that your body needs it to~tracing the path of a spiral rather than a straight line.

My hope is to help you find a deep sense of internal rooting, grounding and comfort that allows your system to weather the changes with more ease, flexibility and humor than you may have had access to before.

I want you to know in your bones how whole you truly are.
