Therapy for Trauma Processing
Trauma work as I practice it is spiraling work that is rooted in the present moment with tendrils tracing back to the past. Talking about present moment pain or challenge naturally evokes memories, sensations and images that root backwards in time. I help you hold the present while making room to experientially process experiences of shock, pain, abandonment or abuse that are living in your tissues.
By intelligent necessity, trauma shapes the nervous system into positions and relational patterns that often feel smaller, tighter, more detached or more chaotic than you may want to live in.
Through integrated somatic nervous system work and compassion building Internal Family Systems guidance, my goal for each person I work with is for them to build the capacity to express more of who they already are (messy, loud, imperfect, bold etc) without shutting down.
